Perungavoor village is located in Thiruvallur district (Pincode 600103), close to Red Hills town. This small village houses the sacred and ancient temple dedicated to Lord Siva. The temple is dedicated to Lord Meenakshi Sundareswarar. With the blessings of Acharya Swamigals renovation is planned at this temple. The Bhoomi Puja - Balalayam for this temple is planned for March 6, 2009. We request the devotees to whole heartedly participate in this function and contribute and support this holy endeavor.Kanchi Maha Periaval was deeply devoted to the temple.Sri Gurubhyo Namah
Once about 30 years when a group of villagers approached Maha Perival for guidance to construct an Amman temple in the village, He enquired on the well being of the village and stressed on the importance of upkeep and pujas in the Sri Sundareswarar temple. It has always been our belief that if the aradhana and pujas happen in the local temples, then the village will prosper and live in Subhiksham. These ancient temples act as fulcrum to tie the residents to our sanatana dharma and act as a living link to the past and guide us into the future.
We will keep you informed of the progress and events as and when they happen.
